Kanika Kapoor in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh is an Indian playback singer. Kapoor was born and brought up in a Punjabi Khatri family in Lucknow. At the age of 12, Kapoor started to study classical music under musician Ganesh Prasad Mishra from Varanasi and was accompanied by him to classical concerts around India. During the time she did a stint with All India Radio and moved to Mumbai to work in the music industry. Source
